The wonderful Colorado scenery and the cool fresh water beats anything. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling rivers. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. A good workout and just being     out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
