The Dove Creek Pump Station to Slickrock section of Dolores River is 28 miles long and is a class II-III+(IV) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camp stove. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to
get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The wonderful Colorado scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as
well. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people.

All through the summertime at Dolores River highs are typically in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures
sink down into the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are generally in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Dolores River.
