The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Colorado are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. This section of Eagle River in Colorado is -blank- miles long and it is classified as a class IV(V) section by American Whitewater. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The beautiful scenery of Eagle County and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great
attractions for lots of people. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The Camp Hale to Red Cliff section is the only paddling section along Eagle
River.
Briefly about the general area: Much rainfall falls at Eagle River; the month of September is the wettest with most of the rain, and May is when it's the driest. Summertime highs at Eagle River usually tend to be in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's generally in the 70's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 80's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Eagle River temperatures fall to the 70's.
