The beautiful scenery of Colorado and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Redcliff to Tigiwan Rd stretch of Eagle River in Colorado is 4 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV-V(V+) section. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Colorado you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but you'd better reserve in advance because
these hotels fill up quick. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The wild scenery of the Park Range is great. This stretch has has enough
mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Edwards, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more.
Briefly about the general area: You might want to pay a visit to Bishop Gulch while you're here at Eagle River, and on a pleasant day you can take a hike along the Fall Creek Trail. At Eagle
River all through the summertime highs are in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. Highs during the wintertime are usually in the 30's, and overnight lows through the winter for Eagle River tend to be in the 0's. But wait,
there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the Park Range. Eagle River is frequently a rather dried out location; through July this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February.
