The Riverbend bus stop to Edwards stretch of Eagle River in Eagle County is 7 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III section. If you're coming from Edwards it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. The scenic beauty of Colorado and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find
the rivers here more demanding, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The beautiful Sawatch Range scenery
is an added bonus. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. There's camping available near Eagle River. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon.
Briefly about the general area: Nearby Eagle Valley is a tremendous site to go if you're at Eagle River, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Beaver Creek while you're here. Eagle River is pretty arid mostly;
July is the wettest month with most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. High temperatures at Eagle River during the days of summer are in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Through the winter the highs are mostly in the 30's, and
winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Eagle River. That right there is loads of amusing stuff already but it goes on, the Sawatch Range has it all. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Eagle River; Nottingham Ridge Trail is a splendid local trail.
