The nature scenery of Colorado and the cool fresh water beats anything. The Sawatch Range scenery is wonderful. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good     spots for that around here. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. No need to look hard for hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch of Eagle River in Eagle County is 7 miles long and is a class III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. Briefly about the general area: Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Sawatch Range. Skiing at Beaver Creek is one of those things you just should do. Eagle River is pretty arid mostly; the month with most of the rain is July; the driest month is February. Eagle Valley is a splendid location to look at, and there is a good hiking trail close   by called the Nottingham Ridge Trail. For the period of the summertime here at Eagle River, high temperatures typically get into the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 40's. Throughout the winter the highs are usually in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Eagle River descend into the 0's.
