The nature scenery of Colorado and the water flowing gracefully down Eagle River have people coming here. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The Edwards to Eagle stretch of Eagle River is 17.4     miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. The beauty of the Sawatch Range is a great plus for this river. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Edwards to Eagle section is one of them. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. Briefly about the general area: The Salt Creek Trail offers hiking at its best. Not much precipitation falls here at Eagle River; most of the   rain falls through July, and the driest of the months is February. At Eagle River throughout the months of summer highs are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Eagle River sink into the 0's.
