  The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. If you're coming from Silverthorne it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The Tabernash to Granby section of Fraser River is 9.4 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This stretch
    has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. No shortage of good hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. Since you're on this site you
are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The Tabernash to Granby stretch is the only paddling stretch along Fraser River.

Briefly about the general area:
All through the long summer days highs here at Fraser River get into the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 40's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Fraser River. Skiing at SolVista Basin is one of those things you just
 
have to do.
It is very dried up here at Fraser River typically; during the month of August you get the most rain around here; February meanwhile is the driest month.
