Colorado whitewater - -blank-, Eagle County Eagle county, Taylor Creek to Basalt section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS IV     5 miles   The natural beauty of Eagle County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. The starting point is not too far from Edwards, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's good length for a morning trip. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The     rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. This is the only paddling stretch along -blank-. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. This stretch of -blank- in Eagle County is 5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV section. Briefly about the general area: Whitnach Falls is a beautiful place to take a look at while you're at -blank-, and going for a hike on the Blue Creek Trail is always a good adventure. At -blank- during the summer highs are in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are   in the 50's. Highs through the winter are usually in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at -blank- descend into the 0's. At -blank- you don’t see much precipitation; through the month of April you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is June. No need to travel far to go to attention-grabbing stuff like Seven Castles; Box Canyon is another wonderful location to stop at close by.
