Colorado whitewater - -blank-, Eagle County Eagle county, Taylor Creek to Basalt section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS IV     5 miles   This section of -blank- in Eagle County is 5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV section. The nature scenery of Eagle County and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. A bit of exercise and a chance     to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Edwards, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. -blank- doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Taylor Creek to Basalt stretch is the only one. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Briefly about the general area: Don't leave -blank- without first checking out Seven Castles, and a fine place to stop at nearby is Box Canyon. At -blank- throughout the summer months highs are in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and   night lows in the 0's for -blank-. This is such a wonderful river. Not much rainfall falls here at -blank-; April is when you get the most rain here while June is ordinarily the driest month.
