This section of Gore Creek is -blank- miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V section of whitewater. The wonderful Colorado scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Gore Creek have people coming here. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are no other stretches to paddle along Gore
Creek than the Upper Upper Gore Creek stretch. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because
these hotels fill up quick.
Briefly about the general area: All through the months of summer, highs commonly are in the 80's at Gore Creek, and all through the night it cools down to the 70's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are usually in the 80's; nighttime lows at Gore Creek through the winter mostly descend into the 70's. Gore Creek gets a large amount of water; the month with most of the rain is September, and the driest month of the year is May.
