CLASS V 0.25 miles
The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The scenic beauty of Colorado and the playfulness of the water beats anything. No need to look hard for hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The 1/4 mile above confluence with Eagle River stretch of Homestake Creek in Eagle County is 0.25 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V section. This is a very short stretch so it's not like you're gonna
spend hours on the river in one stretch. When you're paddling down a Sawatch Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Homestake Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the 1/4 mile above confluence with Eagle River stretch is the only one.
