If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Kannah Creek Trailhead to Girl Scout Camp Bridge stretch is one of them. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from     far and near. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a pretty short section so no need to bring snacks. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The put-in is not too far from Grand Junction, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Kannah Creek with night lows in the 60's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight   here at Kannah Creek. There is a good hiking trail near Kannah Creek called the Spring Camp Trail; close by you hit upon the Whitewater Basin Trail which is a good hiking trail.
