county,
Kannah Creek Trailhead to Girl Scout Camp Bridge section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS V 1.8 miles
The put-in is not too far from Grand Junction, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The natural beauty of Mesa County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Kannah Creek Trailhead to Girl Scout Camp Bridge section is one of them. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'll
have to walk back to the start over and over. This stretch of Kannah Creek is 1.8 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class V section. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging,
so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other spots.
