Mesa
county,
Route 50 to Route 141 section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS III 6.5 miles
Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Colorado are harder than the national norm, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. If you're coming from Grand Junction it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The Route 50 to Route 141 section of Kannah Creek in Colorado is 6.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III section of whitewater. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Route 50 to Route 141 section is one of them. The beautiful
scenery of Mesa County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. A good workout and just hanging
out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are not so many other good spots for that around here.
