The 2nd Gorge stretch of Lime Creek in Colorado is -blank- miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V+ section. The natural beauty of unknown County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.
The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Colorado are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The 2nd Gorge stretch is the only paddling stretch along Lime Creek. When you're paddling down a San

Briefly about the general area: Take a hike on the Whitehead Trail; there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Kendall Mountain. It is very dried out here at Lime Creek frequently; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is June. You just have to adore the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Deer Park Trail. For the duration of the days of summer highs here at Lime Creek
get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 40's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Lime Creek temperatures drop to the 0's.
