Says Bev If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The Ankle Breaker to Beaver Ponds stretch of Oh Be Joyful Creek in Gunnison County is 1 miles long and is rated by     American Whitewater as a class V section. This stretch is very short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Ankle Breaker to Beaver Ponds stretch is one of them. There's camping available near Oh Be Joyful Creek. The wonderful Gunnison County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around       here. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come.
