The starting location is a short drive from Edwards, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The beautiful scenery of Eagle County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. The Park Range scenery is wonderful. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up
sleeping in your car. Piney River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Piney Crossing to State Bridge section is the only one. The Piney Crossing to State Bridge stretch of Piney River is 19 miles long and is a class V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater.
This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.

local attraction; Cabin Gulch is a fine location to stop by. Piney River is generally a pretty arid spot; July is the wettest month with most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month.
