The beautiful scenery of Colorado and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. The Black Bridge to Veltus Park stretch of Roaring Fork in Pitkin/Garfield County is 6.2 miles long and is a class II+(III) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's perfect for a one day trip. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Black Bridge to Veltus Park section is one of them. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Colorado is often more difficult
than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance

Briefly about the general area: You might want to pay a visit to Red Canyon while you're here at Roaring Fork. Roaring Fork is mostly a reasonably waterless place; all through the month of October you get the most rain around here, and February on the other hand is the driest. The warmest time of the year at Roaring Fork comes with high temperatures in the 80's
while nighttime lows are generally in the 50's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Roaring Fork fall into the 0's.
