Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The scenic beauty of Colorado and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. There are nice comfortable hotels here, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This section is long enough to enjoy a
good non stop paddle, it's good length for a morning trip. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Black Bridge to Veltus Park section is one of them. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here.

about the general area: A fine site to go to close to Roaring Fork is Red Canyon. Roaring Fork gets very little rain; October is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is February. Through the days of summer, highs typically are in the 80's at Roaring Fork. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Roaring Fork.
