CLASS III 3.8 miles
The Upper Woody Creek Bridge to Lower Woody Creek Bridge stretch of Roaring Fork is 3.8 miles long and it is classified as a class III section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Colorado and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The put-in is not too far from Edwards, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This
is a somewhat short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. The average Colorado whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder
to master than those in other states, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Upper Woody Creek Bridge to Lower Woody Creek Bridge section is just one of them. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places.
