Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Colorado is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The wonderful Pitkin County scenery and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The wild scenery of the Sawatch Range is great. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. The starting point is not too far from Edwards, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.
Briefly about the general area: It is very dry here at Roaring Fork mostly; April is the month that gets the most rain,
and June meanwhile is the driest month. Roaring Fork is in close proximity to Cerise Gulch which is beyond doubt worth a visit. Summertime at Roaring Fork arrives with high temperatures in the 80's while night lows are mostly in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's while Roaring Fork overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 0's.
