The Aspen to Upper Woody Creek Bridge stretch of Roaring Fork in Pitkin County is 4.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V section of whitewater. The natural beauty of Pitkin County and the water flowing gracefully down Roaring Fork are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. all set. If you're coming from Edwards it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. The average Colorado whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so if you're not from
around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near.
