Seven Castles to Basalt 7-11 section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS III+ 4.4 miles
This stretch of Roaring Fork is 4.4 miles long and it is classified as a class III+ section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Eagle County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Seven Castles to Basalt 7-11 section is just one of many. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. You can pitch a tent or park your
RV at a nearby campground. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter,
this is an area with plenty of places for that. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving.
