The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Colorado are often more challenging than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. The beautiful scenery of Colorado and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming     here. The river winds through the Park Range and you get great scenery. The Shoe and Stocking Creek Trailhead to Bridge below Quarry section is the only paddling section along Rock Creek. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The put-in location is a short drive from Edwards, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The campgrounds here at Rock Creek are pretty good. Briefly about the general area: Rock Creek is pretty dried out usually; during the month of July you get the most rain around here, and February   on the other hand is the driest. The warmest time of the year at Rock Creek arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 40's. Throughout the wintertime highs are typically in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Rock Creek fall into the 0's. Near Rock Creek you find the Tepee Creek Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail.
