CLASS III-IV 4 miles
I am a very close relative of the land owners for a significant portion of the East Fork. There is a couple of miles of river that is private land. Using the river or the land without authorization is tresspassing and is illegal. I am by no means giving you permission to use it. I am simply stating the facts. Please respect the property line and stay on public lands. Other than that enjoy your time in CO and happy rafting. Says

Whitewater. The nature scenery of Archuleta County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t

The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Colorado are often tougher than in other states, so better not forget that many runs in this state are not easy. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. This is one of a small number of paddling
stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.
