BB 36 Road to Green Truss Bridge section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS III 5.2 miles
The BB 36 Road to Green Truss Bridge section of San Miguel River in Colorado is 5.2 miles long and is a class III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Colorado and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Not too many hotels
nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Some people
prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other places. The beautiful Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains scenery is an added bonus. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the BB 36 Road to Green Truss Bridge section is one of them. If you're coming from Montrose it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page.
