The beautiful scenery of Jefferson County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Colorado are harder than the national norm, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The Front Range scenery is wonderful. This stretch is mid length, it's perfect     for a one day trip. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other places for that. Briefly about the general area: South Platte River is pretty dried up regularly; August is the month that gets the most rain, and January is the month with the least moisture. High temperatures at South Platte River through the summertime months are in the   70's; the overnight is somewhat cooler of course, mostly in the 30's.
