  This stretch of South Platte River - North Fork in Park/Jefferson County is 10.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV-V section. The natural beauty of Park/Jefferson County and the cool fresh water beats anything. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter,
     around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The Front Range scenery is wonderful. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. You might have to
settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came.
