  This stretch of South Platte River - North Fork is 7 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so better not forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The starting point is not too far from Denver-Aurora, as you can see on the road map further down. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The beautiful scenery of Jefferson County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from
    near and far. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. Whitewater paddling here in the Front Range is a great experience.
Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Buffalo Creek to South Platte section is just one of them.
