The scenic beauty of Jefferson County and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. The starting point is not too far from Denver-Aurora, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Colorado you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. The wild scenery of the Front Range is great.
This stretch of South Platte River - North Fork in Colorado is 7 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV section of whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations
you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip.
