The scenic beauty of Colorado and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other spots. This is a pretty short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. There's camping available near Uncompahgre River. The Ouray to KOA campground stretch of Uncompahgre River in Colorado is 2.2 miles     long and is a class V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Colorado is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains scenery is wonderful. There are no other sections to paddle along Uncompahgre River than the Ouray to KOA campground section. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
