The natural beauty of Colorado and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with not too many     other spots for that. The North-South Fork confluence to Green River section is the only paddling section along White River. A section like this is is of course not run in a single day, so it looks like you will be camping out. This section of White River is 80 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at White River through the long summer days are in the 90's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to White River. White River is pretty arid generally; through the month of October you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is February.
