The wonderful Rio Blanco County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down White River attract people from near and far. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. This is the only paddling stretch along White River. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There aren’t     any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are not so many other good spots for that around here. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. Briefly about the general area: Not much rain falls here at White River; October is the wettest month with most rain while February is frequently the driest month. High temperatures at White River during the long summer days are in the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Highs through the winter are ordinarily in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at White River drop into the 0's.
