The nature scenery of Colorado and the water flowing gracefully down White River have people coming here. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Colorado tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are not so many other good places for that around here. quite near the river where you can camp. This is the only paddling section along White River. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while
| will have you coming back for more. This section of White River is 80 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater.
Briefly about the general area:
Near White River you discover Elledge Draw which is a good site to explore. Around White River you don’t get a lot of rainfall; through the month of October you get the most rain around here; February is when it's the driest.
Summertime brings highs in the 90's to White River while night lows are frequently in the 50's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for White River. | |
