The Horseshoe Campground to Williams Fork Reservoir section of Williams Fork in Colorado is 9 miles long and is a class II-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The put-in is not too far from Silverthorne, as you can see on the road map further down. The scenic beauty of Grand County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Colorado is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large
number of rivers in this state are not easy. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. Williams Fork doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Horseshoe Campground to Williams Fork Reservoir stretch is
the only one. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. The campgrounds here at Williams Fork are pretty good. When you're paddling down a Park Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers.

area: A delightful place to go to right next door to Williams Fork is Brinker Gulch; glorious hiking is available along the Horseshoe Sulfur Trail. Williams Fork gets very little precipitation; during the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February on the
other hand is the driest. All the outdoors fun stuff in the Park Range will keep you coming back many times. Don't leave Williams Fork without first going for a hike along the Williams Peak Trail. Summer at Williams Fork comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Williams Fork.
