If you're coming from Silverthorne it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The scenic beauty of Colorado and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Colorado are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The beautiful Park Range scenery is an added bonus. This is a pretty decent length
section, suitable for an afternoon trip. The National Forest Campground to Reservoir section is the only paddling section along Willow Creek. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away
from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The National Forest Campground to Reservoir stretch of Willow Creek in Grand County is 6 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots.

through the months of summer are in the 80's with night lows in the 40's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Willow Creek are in the-10's. Willow Creek gets very little precipitation; most of the rain falls through August while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
