This section of Woods Creek in Colorado is 0.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V section. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Silverthorne, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The beautiful scenery of Colorado and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The wild scenery of the
Park Range is great. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Woods Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Reservoir to Confluence with West Fork Clear Creek section is the only one. This is a very short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the
start over and over. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came.

and night lows during the wintertime for Woods Creek tend to be in the-10's. Around Woods Creek you don’t get a lot of rain; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest of the months is January. Be careful coming to the Park Range, you might not ever want to return
back home again. The Mount Nystrom Trail offers hiking at its best. Nearby Vasquez Pass is a good place to go if you're at Woods Creek, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Sevenmile Ski Trail.
