The Paper Mill Road to Housatonic River stretch of East Aspetuck River in Connecticut is 4 miles long and is a class III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. There are many good hotels to choose from, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The put-in location is a short drive from Torrington, as you can see on the road map further down.
