This stretch of East Aspetuck River is 4 miles long and it is classified as a class III section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Litchfield County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There are some good hotels near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very
popular destination. The put-in location is a short drive from Torrington, as you can see on the road map further down. The Paper Mill Road to Housatonic River section is the only paddling section along East Aspetuck River. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can
camp. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more.
