If you're coming from Willimantic it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The nature scenery of Connecticut and the water flowing gracefully down Natchaug River have people coming here. This stretch of Natchaug River in Tolland/ Windham County is 0.9 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-IV
section of whitewater. The England Road to Route 198 section is the only paddling section along Natchaug River. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less
demanding. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. This section is very short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other spots for that. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
