You may wish to add the following link from Natchaug River page: http://www.ctxguide.com/ctxguide_144.htm Says Bryan McFarland
The average Connecticut whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. The natural beauty of Tolland/ Windham County and the cool fresh water beats anything. The starting location is a short drive from Willimantic, there's a road map further down the page with more info
on that. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. This section of Natchaug River in
Connecticut is 0.9 miles long and is a class II-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This is a very short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There's camping available near Natchaug River. Natchaug River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the England Road to Route 198 section is the only one.
