The starting location is a reasonable drive from Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The beautiful scenery of Fairfield County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. There are no other sections to paddle along Norwalk River than the Bridge in Cannondale to Mouth section. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. There are some good
hotels near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers.
If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Connecticut you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy.
