CLASS III-IV 3 miles

The nature scenery of Hartford County and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are not so many other good rivers for that around here. This stretch is short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.
The put-in location is a short drive from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford, as you can see on the road map further down. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up
quick. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. This is the only paddling stretch along Roaring Brook River. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding.
