This stretch of Turket Creek in Hamilton County is 1 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. There are some good hotels near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The campgrounds here at Turket Creek are pretty good. The put-in is not too far from Valdosta, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t     get lost. Turket Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Jennings to Alapaha section is the only one. Briefly about the general area: All the water falling down from the sky makes Turket Creek a wet place; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is October.
