The beautiful scenery of Georgia and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. This stretch of Alcovy River in Barrow/ Walton/ Newton County is 21 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places.
