Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Georgia tend to be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that many runs in this state are not easy. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. There are
campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This section of Allen Creek is 4 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V section of whitewater. This is the only paddling section along Allen Creek. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the
river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning trip.
Briefly about the general area: Summer at Allen Creek comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer night lows fall down to the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are mostly in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Allen Creek sink into the 20's. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Lumpkin Spring, and if you want to
have a look at some out of the ordinary stuff, have a look at Huckleberry Point. At Allen Creek you always meet someone from Summerville, and a fine place to take a look at is Jones Gap. This river is so wonderful. Allen Creek sees pretty high levels of rainfall; through March this area sees the most rain, and October is the month with the least moisture.
