The Highway 53 to Kelly Bridge/Etowah River section of Amicalola Creek is 9.75 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV section. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. The nature scenery of Georgia and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Whitewater rafting
and kayaking in Georgia is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but
