The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. On this section you do get some distance, it's good     length for a morning trip. The Highway 53 to Kelly Bridge/Etowah River section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The average Georgia whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so better not forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners.
