The GA 22 to Watson Mill Bridge St. P Highway section of Big Clouds Creek in Georgia is 2.9 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-III section. The wonderful Georgia scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Big Clouds Creek are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. If you're coming from Athens-Clarke County it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state
are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. The GA 22 to Watson Mill Bridge St. P Highway section
is the only paddling section along Big Clouds Creek. This is a somewhat short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other places. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
