The scenic beauty of Georgia and the water flowing gracefully down Cartecay River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning     trip. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the GA Route 52 to Lower Cartecay Road stretch is one of them. No shortage of good hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Cartecay River, and the nighttime is rather chillier of course, generally in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Cartecay River descend into the 20's.
