If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Georgia you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The put-in location is a short drive from Cornelia, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The USFS Road 44 to Robertson section of Chattahoochee River is 7 miles long and is a class II-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The natural beauty of White/Habersham/Hall County and the beautiful way the water current
moves down the stream beats anything. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of
paddling places. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. There's camping available near Chattahoochee River. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the USFS Road 44 to Robertson stretch is just one of many. The wild scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains is great.
