When you're paddling down a Blue Ridge Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The put-in is not too far from Cornelia, as you can see on the road map further down.
