If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Georgia you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The beautiful scenery of Georgia and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This section of Chattahoochee River in White/Habersham/Hall County is 4 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. the page with more info on that. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. This is not the only
paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.
