Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Georgia is often tougher than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. If you're coming from Cornelia it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. The wonderful Georgia scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. If you're a camper you can camp

County is 4 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots.

The high level of rainfall makes Chattahoochee River a reasonably wet site; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is October.
