This section of Chattahoochee River in White/Habersham/Hall County is 4 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. The put-in is not too far from Cornelia, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots
for that. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The nature scenery of White/Habersham/Hall County and the water flowing gracefully down Chattahoochee
River attract people from near and far. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip.
Briefly about the general area: For the duration of the warm days of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Chattahoochee River. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Chattahoochee River. Chattahoochee River sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is usually March, that's the one that rains the most, and October is when it's the driest. If you're here, you might as well go to Buck Shoals.
