The starting location is a short drive from Cornelia, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. If you have the time you can
make this a two day trip, so pack your camp stove. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. For all you camping people there are
campgrounds nearby. The average Georgia whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so better not forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners.

Through the summertime at Chattahoochee River highs are frequently in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's.
