The wonderful Georgia scenery and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This section of Chattahoochee River is 11 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II(III) section of whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if
you make reservations in advance you're all set. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your camp stove. If you're coming
from Cornelia it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Duncan Bridge to Belton Bridge section is just one of them.
