Dried up. Rain water ditch. Don't bother. 7-6-2008 Says Ron S.
The wonderful Cobb/Fulton County scenery and the playfulness of the water beats anything. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. This stretch of Chattahoochee River in Georgia is 0.2 miles long and has been rated as a class II(III) section by American Whitewater. No shortage of good hotels, and if you
make reservations in advance you're all set. If you're coming from Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This stretch is very
short so no need to bring snacks. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Upstream of Atlanta Road section is one of them.
