The wonderful Georgia scenery and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. The starting location is a short drive from Toccoa, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good places. The river winds through the Blue Ridge Mountains and you get great scenery. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system
that can be paddled as well. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in
nature are great attractions for lots of people. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Georgia is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners.
