  The put-in location is a short drive from Seneca, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and
    some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. There are campgrounds quite near
the river where you can camp. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. The Overflow Creek Road Bridge to Highway 28 Boater's Access section of Chattooga River - West Fork in Rabun County is 5 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Georgia and the water flowing gracefully down Chattooga River - West Fork are reasons enough to come here and paddle. When you're paddling down a Blue Ridge Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along  
the way too.

Briefly about the general area:
Chattooga River - West Fork sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. During the warm months at Chattooga River - West Fork highs are regularly in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Chattooga River - West Fork.
Since you're here at Chattooga River - West Fork why not explore Pigpen Gap, and hiking along the Burrells Ford Trail is magnificent fun. Yep, outdoors entertaining stuff truly is plentiful here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Have a nice hiking adventure along the Three Forks Trail.
