The Turners Corner to Grindle Bridge section of Chestatee River is 11.4 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III+ section. The scenic beauty of Georgia and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. stretch is one of them. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.
Whitewater paddling here in the Blue Ridge Mountains is a great experience. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The starting point is not too far from Gainesville, as you can see on the road map further down. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camp stove.

night is fairly chillier of course, mostly in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Chestatee River throughout the wintertime generally fall into the 20's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Chestatee River a wet spot; March is when you get the most rain here, and October is when it's the driest.
