The Casey Road to Tennessee River stretch of Cole City Creek is 7.2 miles long and it is classified as a class III+(IV) section by American Whitewater. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so better not forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The starting point is not too far from Chattanooga, as you can see on the road map further down. Cole City Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Casey Road to Tennessee River section is the only one. Whether you're
whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. The nature scenery of Dade County and the water flowing gracefully down Cole City Creek are reasons enough to come here and paddle. There's camping available near Cole City Creek. Getting your paddling
muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon.
Briefly about the general area: While you're here at Cole City Creek you must visit Sulphur Springs Gulf, and Seward Point is an exciting thing to make out while you're here. For the period of
the warm months, highs usually are in the 80's at Cole City Creek. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's with temperatures at Cole City Creek dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. A delightful
place in close proximity to Cole City Creek is Squirrel Tail Gulf; the Sand Mountain casts its shadow over Cole City Creek. This river has so much to offer. Cole City Creek is a pretty wet place mostly with lots of rain; March is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is June.
